**Ralph Fletcher**

In Marshfield Dreams Ralph Fletcher explains most of his childhood memories in the book and explains them in easy sentences.

In Ralph Fletcher's vignette "First Pen" he states, "When i was eight, Dad bought me a pen." ( Fletcher, 2005, p.43 ) He says that the story is going to be about his first pen that his father gave him. It's just a simple sentence but it tells what the whole story is going to be about.

In another one of Ralph Fletcher's vignette "Bobby"  he states, 'he sat in the playpen happy as pie, like he had no idea what was coming, which of course he didn't." ( Fletcher, 2005, p. 59 ) This sentence tells you that something good or bad is going to happen in the story. It turns out to be bad because he ends up telling you that his brother Bobby died in his senior year of high school in a car accident.

Ralph Fletcher has a good writing strategy and he is easy to understand when he is writing.
