**Reaction to a quote**

                                       "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." J.K Rowling. This quote is saying that you can do anything where ever you are and with what you have.  There are a lot of historical figures that agree with this quote. 
                I think this quote means that you can't have everything everywhere so just deal with what you have. I think Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would have agreed with this quote because he did what he can with what he had.
                I think J.K. Rowling said this quote because she was an author and she does what she can with what she has.   


              
                                                                   

**Uniform Essay**

          America has agreed to let us have freedom and be different. According to Louis D. Brandeis, “America has believed that in differentiation, not uniformity, lays the path of progress. It acted on this belief, it has advanced human happiness, and it has prospered.” Most of the schools want school uniforms they don’t let people be different. The Board of Education is wanting all school to have uniforms it all of the school had uniforms there would be no difference at all. Parents will spend more money on doing laundry. No one will be different. You have to buy school uniforms and outside clothes.

          All of the parents are going to have to spend more money on washing the uniforms everyday. Most people would buy 3 sets of uniforms so you will have to wash them a lot. Parents will have to spend more money on laundry detergent. Some people will say to buy more uniforms. They are wrong because that will cost even more money.                                                                                                                                        If every school had uniforms there would be no difference. If everybody is the same there wouldn’t any standing out. Nobody would be able to compress their uniqueness. Most people would say there would be no more bullying. They are wrong because nobody would be different so no one can say anything good either.
          When people get school uniforms you are going to have to buy outside of school clothes, too. You’re going to have to buy three or more sets of school uniforms. The amount of money you already are spending on regular clothes will be doubled. People are probably going to say that isn’t a lot of money. They are wrong because it already costs a lot of money, for school clothes and if you add the cost of the uniforms it’s a lot.
          Uniforms will do no difference if all schools K-12. If schools get uniforms you are going to have to buy uniforms an regular clothes. Uniforms mean no difference. Parents will have to increasingly public schools are requiring uniforms which doesn’t spend more money washing clothes.

Reflection Thinking Points

I liked my piece because I enjoyed filming and making my commercial.  I also liked my piece because I thought we did a good job advertising our product which was monopoly express.  My last reason of why I liked my piece was because I thought it was sort of funny watching the commercial. I feel I am good at keeping eye contact with the camrea. Another thing I feel I am good at is remebering the script I was supposed to say. Also I feel I am good at speaking loud in my commercial. Some areas I could improve on are showing the product to the camrea, looking less nervous, and changing my tone according to what I have to say.  Persuasive essay writing techniques and strategies I'd like to try next time are adding a celebrity appeal, a coupon, and the bandwagon technique.  The part of the writing process I enjoy the most is revising my final piece because Ilike making sure my paper is perfect or close to prefect.  When I finish revising my paper I feel proud to hand it in.  Another reason why revising my final piece is my favorite part of the writing process is because I want to make sure I have no mistakes on my paper and get a good grade.  My goals for the next time I write are mostly about writing more in my writings. I want to add more detail to make my writing better.  Also, I want to try on improvng my introduction and my conclusion. Three things I learned about myself throughout this project are that if I try my hardest I can suceed. Another one is that i can do better than I imagined. There was one mentor author that informed my writing and that was Rahlp Fletcher. These are my reflections to my piece.

**Letter to a tv station**

I think you should play my commercial after 3:00 because that is when most of the kids in school leave school. It would better than playing it during kids in school when no one is watching tv except mabye for adults which won't want any of the kid's toys. I think a lot of kids would like my commercial. Playing it after 3:00 is important because if you don't mostly no kids will be watching your commercial on tv.

*Things i learned from this college career unit*

I learned a bunch of things from this college career unit especially that picking a college can change your whole life around. Also that you have to work hard for what you want, it isn't just going to come to you if you don't do anything. You can start as early as in 6th grade like me and decide what you are going to do in your life. Just one decision can change your whole life so you have to make decisions very wisely. You especially have to know what you want to be when you grow like me I want to be a police officer so I looked for a college that teaches criminal justice. I learned to make smart choices and to start working hard now and it will help me get a career and get a good college. 

*Growing Up*

When I grow up I always wanted to be professinal football player but if that dosen't work out I would want to be a cop. I always wanted to be fighting crime and helping people all around. When I was a kid I always used to pretend I was a cop and arrest my brother with fake handcuffs. The D.A.R.E program got me started with wanted to be a cop mostly. I like how my D.A.R.E teacher Officer Ted told all of his stroy as a cop and his arrests. I also liked the summer police academy a lot I met a lot of new friends there and had a lot of fun. If I become a cop i have many decisions of what to be after that like joining the S.W.A.T. I really hope I become a cop when I grow up I know I would have a lot of fun doing my job.

**New Year's Resolution**

My New Year's resolution is to write down my homework a lot more in school. I've decided to make this my resolution because my homework averages have been getting lower and that is because of not writing down my homework. I can accomplish this goal by writing down my homework right away when i get into class instead of talking to my friends. My second New Year's resolution is to get better grades in English. I've decided to make this my resolution because my grades are getting low in Englisht he past weeks and I hate getting low grades. I can accomplish my resolution by not fooling around in class and getting all of my work done on time. I usually forget my homework in English so thats why my first resolution is doing all of my homework. I hope i accomplish both of my New Year's resolutions!
